Daniel Hewson

Master of Science Degree in Audiology

Born and raised in Western New York, Dan Hewson founded Ascent Audiology with his wife, Cynthia in 2015. He has over 25 years of expertise & experience in the field. With a master’s degree in audiology from State University of New York, Mr. Hewson has extensive experience working in several of the largest Otolaryngology practices in the country, and also as a Regional Manager with Siemens Medical Audiology Division. Father, husband, and full-time employee with us, Dan is currently a student working to earn his doctorate in audiology; it should be completed by 2022.

Dan was naturally attracted to the field of audiology because he grew up with moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss (75-80% loss). He has followed hearing aid development, research, and rehabilitation. If you want to know what hearing impairment is really about and how hearing devices can change your life, Dan Hewson is the one to ask. He has had experiences with tinnitus and vertigo and completely understands what people are going through and what is needed to be done to fix this for patients. He’s been wearing hearing aids since childhood (44 years) and has an intimate understanding of the hearing impaired. His personal hearing device story is fascinating and illuminating for anyone, but especially for those who may be hesitant about the hearing rehabilitation process.

Off the clock, Dan is absolutely content spending time with his 3 children and wife, Cynthia. He can be found playing softball, golf, tennis, attending church and seriously soaking in his hot tub and pool. Over the years, he has come to love Arizona and the life he’s built here. He especially loves meeting new people with hearing impairment, hearing their stories and struggles and sharing his story. He wants as many people as possible to experience the myriad benefits of hearing better, just as he has. Education is his # 1 priority.
