Established in 1960 with just five model homes, a shopping center, a recreation center, and a golf course, Sun City has transformed into a bustling haven for retirees and snowbirds alike. Standing tall on the grounds of what was once the Marinette ghost town, our dynamic community has injected life and vibrancy into this segment of Maricopa County.

Today, residents and visitors alike indulge in our eight sprawling golf courses, dive into activities at our seven recreation centers, and enjoy the thrill of competition at our four lawn bowling locations—which notably hosted the 2019 US. Lawn Bowling Open South Central Division tournament. And what better way to truly immerse oneself in the melodies of our Sun Bowl Amphitheater than with crystal-clear hearing?

Our mission at Ascent Audiology Surprise West transcends traditional audiology services. We’re here not only to address hearing challenges but also to elevate the auditory experiences of the community of Surprise, AZ, and its surrounding locales. By rolling out our award-winning “red carpet” treatment, we ensure every visitor receives care that is a class apart.

Having garnered the trust of thousands of residents, esteemed physicians, and various organizations, our accolades are a testament to our unparalleled commitment to better hearing. The signature methodology we follow was sculpted by our founder, Daniel Hewson. As a hearing aid user since 1977, Daniel deeply understands the challenges and reservations associated with hearing impediments. His personal journey is the inspiration that drives our team to offer tailored solutions, designed to alleviate your hearing concerns while making you feel right at home.

When Was Your Last Hearing Assessment?

Although it’s seen as “normal” to have an annual dental check-up, an annual physical, or to have your cholesterol checked, hardly any of us regularly have our hearing assessed.

But with hearing loss being the third most prevalent health condition affecting one out of every five adults in the U.S., it’s never been so important to regularly test your hearing.

A comprehensive hearing assessment is quick, non-invasive, and the results are shared with you immediately, allowing you to either address any hearing challenges to prevent them from worsening or to at least have a baseline to test against in the future.

Access to All Levels of Prescription Hearing Aid Technology

Nobody grows up looking forward to the day that they can buy their first pair of prescription hearing aids, yet with hearing loss now affecting 1 in 5 Americans and the World Health Organization predicting that hearing loss will double by 2050, they’re the solution that hundreds of thousands of people turn to every year.

But with the latest technology being significantly different to the large, clunky devices that you may remember from yesteryear, you’ll be surprised at just how small and discreet the latest prescription hearing devices are.

With incredibly powerful features, incredible clarity for speech recognition, and the ability to seamlessly connect with your cell phone, television, and computer, the latest technology doesn’t just amplify your hearing, but it also amplifies your life.

How to Maintain Healthy Ears with Professional Earwax Removal

Though it is a hassle to deal with sometimes, earwax plays an important role in helping keep your ears healthy by providing moisture, removing dirt, debris, bacteria, fungus, or foreign objects from your ear canal, while also warding off infections.

Consequently, there is a delicate balance that needs to be maintained when it comes to dealing with earwax. Too little earwax can cause itching, irritation, and infection in your ear canal, but too much might lead to muffled sound, aching, and disruption of hearing aid performance.

When earwax removal isn’t done right, you can do damage to your ear canal and eardrum and impact the wax, making your problems worse. The safest, most effective way to deal with earwax is to allow a professional with access to specialized equipment, techniques, and expertise to remove it for you.
