Oticon Hearing Aids

Oticon released the first hearing aid in 1904, the electric Acousticon hearing device, establishing the company as a hearing aid manufacturer. Charles Lehman joined with Oticon’s founders to create the American-Danish Oticon Corporation, which grew to become a leading producer of hearing aids after World War II and became a global company by 1965.

At the cutting edge of hearing aid technology in 1977, the company released their first ultra-discreet in-the-ear (ITE) hearing device. By 1996, Oticon began offering its first digital device, following it up with an advanced technology device with enhanced sound sensitivity along with streaming and connectivity in 2007.

Sound Processing from Oticon

Oticon’s 21st century focus on innovation centers around their Brain Hearing concept, which involves designing and building technology that supports how the brain processes sound and speech to derive meaning rather than just the amplification of sound.

Today’s Oticon hearing aids use the Opn technology platform, making it possible for hearing aid wearers to distinguish between multiple speakers within a noisy environment, while applying micro-digital and nano-digital technology innovations to produce increasingly smaller, lighter, and more discreet hearing devices with improved sound quality, voice clarity, and instrument performance.

Oticon Hearing Aids Features

Internet connectivity using ConnectClip and the IFTTT (If This Then That) Network, make it possible to stream audio directly to your hearing aids from your smartphone and other digital devices. Along with streaming capabilities, Oticon was able to integrate Tinnitus SoundSupport, which includes the transmission of white noise and other tinnitus masking sounds into your hearing aids for tinnitus management.

Oticon’s Genie fitting and counseling tool assists your hearing care provider with fitting your device and facilitates ongoing counseling and support from a remote location.
