When dealing with your health, it’s important to seek the best help you can find. Sometimes this can be hard to do with all the information that is available to us these days.

With May being Better Hearing Month, we are excited to take this opportunity to educate and inform all our patients and the residents of Arizona about how beneficial an audiologist can be to you and your family.

It’s common for people to take their hearing for granted. We always make time for regular eye appointments and even teeth cleanings – however, when I ask new patients about their last hearing assessment, I am usually met with an embarrassed look and maybe an apology for never having had one before.

This is completely understandable, as we tend to only address problems as needed. As we age though, it is important to identify issues before they become major problems, and we can only help if you contact us.

Take the first step to gain better hearing today!

What Is an Audiologist?

Audiologists are trained medical professionals who have dedicated their education to helping patients with their hearing. By focusing solely on this one aspect of the human body, we can diagnose and treat problems correctly and in a timely manner.

Hearing goes far beyond what is happening in your ears. We have the training to recognize symptoms that are related to hearing loss such as balance and cognitive issues.

Tracking and understanding how the ears send signals to the brain and then how they are processed is also a huge part of what we do. This is where everyone is unique and needs to seek personalized care.

We are also quite tech-savvy, as today’s hearing aids contain complex technology to keep up with our busy lifestyles.

Knowing how to program a hearing aid, what its capabilities are, and what kind of products are available to you is something that is ever-changing. We as audiologists make it our mission to stay ahead of this information so we can provide the best care possible for you.

What Are Other Hearing Care Options?

There are a lot of companies and people out there willing to lend you a hand for compensation. The internet is rife with them, and I encourage everyone to do some research to gain some knowledge on the subject.

Online hearing tests are quite common and can provide some feedback on your current hearing status. What you do with this information is the more important part.

Since these online hearing tests are not conducted in a soundproof booth, or by a licensed practitioner, nor can they identify root causes or even a type of hearing loss, take these diagnoses with a grain of salt. If your hearing is cause for concern, come visit us right away.

We Provide Ongoing Audiological Care

As trained hearing care experts, we have a lot of resources and tools we can implement to reduce the effect that hearing loss has on your life.

If getting a hearing aid is the best course of action, then we can custom fit it to your unique ear canal so not only will it be comfortable but very discrete as well.

We can also adjust the settings so that it addresses your specific problem, whether that’s reducing background noise or treating tinnitus, calibrating a prescribed hearing aid is one of our specialties.

Whether it’s hearing assessments, checkups, hearing aid support, or rehabilitation, our team of experts has the training, knowledge, and passion to treat your hearing issue.

If you suspect you are having issues right now, then please come in for a hearing assessment as soon as you can.
